3. Etosha
Etosha National Park offers one of the most beautiful scenes of wildlife spread over an area of over 20’000 km2. Etosha meaning “Great White Place” owes its name to a pan (dried marsh) that stretches out in the the centre of the park and is coloured white by salty deposits. The pan is home to 114 species of mammals, 340 varieties of bird, 16 types of reptile and amphibians who reveal the secrets of their nocturnal life in the floodlit waterholes close to the campsites.
